Day 2 at Delft (17 Oct 07)

Today is my Day 2 at Delft .. getting much used to the place now than yesterday .. didnt get lost anymore :)

It was raining in the morning when I stepped out of the hostel to go to IHE .. luckily I've got an umbrella prepared. So me & my roommate shared the umbrella and had our 15min walk to school in the very cold morning! How romantic ...

The thought of piping hot breakfast at IHE kept us going in the cold & wet morning. When we arrived at the canteen, imagine our disappointment when we find it dark & empty. Fortunately the reception staff (she has a beautiful heart that equally matches her looks) offered to inform the canteen to whip up a warm breakfast for us - salmon sandwich, salad sandwich & a toasted bread! And it's all for free!

After breakfast & some registration (the venue very victorian with huge oil paintings hanging on the walls), it's off to sign my hostel rental contract with DUWO (the appointed hostel provider).

We went in a van. The building got really nice architecture.

Then went for a walk at town centre (all very Renaissance style) - a townhall, 12th-century old church, 14th-century "new" church (this houses the crypt of the Dutch royal family & the mausoleum of Williem the Silent), mandarin ducks swimming in the canals and saw more nice little restaurant with the victorian style ambience, orange lights, cosy decor, friendly staff.. warm steak & wine .. As for me today, dinner is served at home - chocolate cookies, a cup of hot coffee-O (cos no creamer & sugar) and a Royal Gala apple. Sometimes reality & imagination can be quite dfferent :(
